Newborn Baby Gift Basket: A Great Present For Infants and Parents

A couple in the area had a house fire a few years ago, within weeks of their first baby due to be born. Many friends had a collection for the couple to help provide accomodation and vital necessities. I decided to create a newborn baby gift basket and started by listing all the possible giftbasket ideas.

Recently a friend donated a large amount of hardly used coats, sleepers etc. I believe my friend would find a baby travel kit very useful. This was my favourite choice from my short list of baby shower gift ideas.

They would need travel clothes for the baby. This included an easily removable gown for sleeping and a bodysuit for the baby's more active hours. Because the baby would need outerwear, I included soft shoes, a matching blanket, and a soft hat to keep that sure-to-be bald head warm. Naturally, all of this needed to be easily washable.

I included two terrycloth biberons and a soft wash cloth, since babies eat very often and this is typically a messy operation. All babies need toilet accessories too: that's why I added two cloth diapers and also two disposable ones. There are times when even the most environmentally sensible parents will find it useful to have some disposable diapers at hand. Furthermore, I added two small dish towels - usable as clothing protectors - when someone is burping the baby. Sinca a little pack of baby wipes is another very good thing to have, I included two of those as well in my gift package.

All newborn baby gift baskets have to include a toy for the baby. I didn't know the baby's sex - our friends had wanted to find out when the child was born. So I had to pass up the stuffed truck and the rag doll. I chose instead a pale yellow stuffed duck.

If you pack it in a beautiful vinyl diaper bag, this will be an ideal gift basket for a newborn baby. However new parents require more than simply things to really make them enjoy their newborn baby: that's why I added a note, with a promise of many nights of baby-sitting later on, whenever they will need a little more time together alone.
