Claritin Side Effect To Think About Before Taking

Claritin or loratadine is a medication typically prescribed by physicians to treat runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, itching and other symptoms associated with seasonal allergies. While it was once only available by prescription, it is now available over the counter, without a prescription. This medication is also effective in treating hives and other types of histamine induced inflammation. Claritin or loratadine can effectively relieve allergic symptoms in a relatively short period of time without drowsiness. For some individuals, Claritin is believed to cause hair loss. While this may sound serious, it is not a permanent situation and the loss of hair can be stopped with the discontinuation of Claritin or loratadine.
Typically, Claritin induced hair loss is not extensive, and provides little or no cause for alarm.
